PRODUCT DETAILSWho would have thought that you could ever create a teapot inspired by military tanks? Well – Guy Degrenne did!
You see, after the Battle of Normandy in June 1944, there were quite a few abandoned tanks lying around, and Degrenne had just taken over his father’s foundry. He had a rather ingenious idea: recover the tanks’ armour plating to craft his very first stainless steel tools, making them available to all. The concept took flight, and it didn’t take long for demand to soar.
These days, the Guy Degrenne range has evolved to encompass a range of products, including the famous Salam Teapot (which incidentally wear suits of armour!). First created in 1953, these symbolic teapots can now be found in 45 countries around the world and the Museum of Modern Art in New York. Each porcelain teapot includes a felt-lined metal cover (a cloche or “bell”) to insulate the teapot’s contents, plus a removable steel brewing basket that allows you to impact the subtle taste of tea without over-steeping.

- Teapot is crafted from porcelain.
